Thoughts to Ponder...

This is from the newest issue of Body & Soul magazine.
Ten Thoughts on Whole Living.
I can really appreciate its message at this time of change and (hopefully) growth.
1. Your home is more than the sum of its walls. Make it a sacred space.

2. Creativity is a lifestyle, not simply an activity. Let is expand you.
3. True forgiveness springs from love, not regret.
4. Learn something new. Emphasize the trying, not the succeeding.
5. Spend some time in the dirt. You'll be amazed at what nature can inspire.
6. You don't have to have a perfect body to feel great in it.
7. Define yourself by who you are, not the roles you play.
8. Find rejuvination in five minutes of silence.
9. Contribute to abundance. If you no longer need something, pass it on.
10. Find direction in your life by looking where you want to go, not where you don't.

We added to our zoo. We got two cats (Calvin and Hobbes) and a dog (Dodge).

Crazy Dreams

I have THE craziest dreams. I have always said that I should write them all down so I can use them for short stories or movie scripts.
So I'll share some of my main dream from last night with ya.
I dunno exactly when this was supposed to have taken place, but it was after 2010 because apparently in June of 2010 there was a major terrorist attack in Canada.
The dream took place in a huge building seemed like either a museum or a government building. I was there with the school for a fieldtrip (Trevor and all the kids were there too).
It was really crowded, there were a lot of other school groups there. All of the sudden they started to round us all up into groups. There were security guards who wouldn't let us leave from the specified area. I snuck out so I could find the kids and Trevor. This started major rebellion, since other families had been separated as well. (Leave it up to me to start chaos)
There were alarms going off outside (like the storm warning siren). We all started talking about the terrorist attacks in 2010, and wondered if this was another one. There was lots of looking for people, helping others find their families, sneaking away from the guards, but finally the doors were opened and we found that all the buildings in the area (office buildinsg etc.) had also been locked up. At this point Diva woke me up, so I never found out what the cause of all the commotion was.

The Cabbage Soup Diet and Recipe
Recipe:
The cabbage soup can be eaten at any time you feel hungry during the day, and you can eat as much as you wish as often as you like.

Good -bye Gimli

Our Guinea Pig Gimli passed away last night, from what I assume were natural causes. Although this is our 2nd G.P. to have died in the last 3 years. Frodo the rabbit sure is gonna miss her, they were involved romantically. Depending on how he takes it, I might have to get him another companion. Only thing is it will have to be a G.P. 'cause male rabbits fight with each other, and we all know what would happen if I were to get a female rabbit.

BABY GUINEA PIG GURGLING!

This is just how our guinea pig Gimli used to sound when we would pet her.

Happy soon to be EAsTer!

You know, I only gained 2.5 lbs during Christmas, and pretty much lost that by New Years. So, my problem is Easter. If you take away the "s"and "er" it spells Eat. So it is no wonder that this is the time for me that I go a little crazy with the chocolate. My absolute favourite are the Cadbury Mini Eggs, which I am eating right now! I love them even more than plain M&Ms. Can't wait to go Easter shopping for the kids.

LO Post

For those non-scrappers a LO is a layout (a page). This is one i did of my gorgeous niece Becca. She is at that stage in her life where she is reinventing herself. What a wonderful time, to choose what you want to be, without having to worry if what you want to be will pay the bills, work with your kids' schedule, or if you can do it. Then again I sure wouldn't want to deal with all those 14 yr old issues of teenage cliches, boys, and being unsure of yourself.

Ofcourse that unsure of yourself thing hasn't changed much for me, and I am 15 years older than she is!

What have i done?!?

The top left pic is what I looked like on Staurday morn. Then I went for a haircut Sat. afternoon, which I wasn't too crazy about. So after a couple days of trying to get used to it, I went back to the hairdresser and had her cut it again.
Its gonna take awhile for this to grow out!

General Update

Just had to post this picture of this bare tree with all the hoar frost on it. Reminds me so much of Grandma Kerr.

Trevor has been in Reno for 4 days now, 8 more to go. He seems pretty busy building the displays and what not. Him and Darren take a hot tub each night at the hotel after they have done their work for the day.

Tate and his hockey team are now in the "A" Finals of the Novice division for our area. They will play Calahoo this weekend. He has also really brought up his marks this term! I must give kudos to his teacher, she is wonderful. Understanding, but firm.

Justine, although she has regressed as far as behaviour, has started to realise the negative effect that she has when she has her tantrums. Her new teacher put it in words that she could understand. She told her that she had a bad habit of releasing her frustrations on me. As well, her teacher pointed out that I was jumping in and feeding the fire with my reaction. So "CALM" is our new word. It really has been working! Justine still enjoys all that encompasses entertainment, singing, dancing, performing in general.

Cordell is doing amazing in school all Es for Excellent, w/one 2+ in printing (he doesn't form his letters quite right). He is really enjoying his swimming lessons this go 'round, and wants to join the Leduc Otters Swim Team after spring break.

Me, I am just waiting to hear if I have a 2nd part time position at the school. Would really love to work fulltime. I get a lot of self esteem and support from the staff. I really like being part of a 2nd family there, a semi normal one. Not that it is hard to be less messed up than my family.

I had an afaire!

Yes, I had an afaire, a Scrap-a-faire! I completely ignored my husband and children for 5 days! It was just like in the beginning of a new realationship. Where you try to get on with normal day to day activities, like showering, eating, doing the household chores but all you can think about is being with them. So although I did live my regular life this weekend (laundry, showering, eating..a lot of take out!), my heart just wasn't in it. Every waking moment if I wasn't at the online scrapbooking event, I was thinking about it!

My favourite classes were Melissa Inman's School Album in a Snap and Leah Fung's Rolodex Reminder. I also found a new Scrap Designer to stalk...Wendy Reed! She will be on Scrapbook LifeStyle in April. She just so happens to live in Vegas, where I just so happen to be taking my vacation at the end of April! I might have to turn into an official stalker!

Sadly it was just that, an afaire, and now it is over!
I think I need some chocolate!

Nicknames

I have been reading a lot of blogs lately and have notice that people have nicknames for their kids. Justine was easy she is so a DIVA. Cordell is the Golden Boy - as close to perfection as a 6 1/2 year old can get. But then there was Tate, I was having a hard time with him until...
Diva proudly noted that she had snuck into our bed last night. I then went through the explanation of how it is unfair to do that as then "Daddy and mommy have a bad sleep and then we are grumpy. And if we don't get enough sleep for a long time we can get sick".
Tate asks "what is the sickness called?" So I explain that there isn't one specific sickness, it just makes our bodies tired and we can get a cold or the flu more easliy.
So Tate says "I know what is could be called. Didntgetenoughsleepitis!"
So Tate's name is now Seinfeld (he is such a comedian, and adores Jerry Seinfeld and his type of comedy).
So there we have it.

IQ Test

Here's a one-question IQ Test to help you decide how you shouldspend the rest of your day......

There is a mute who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing one's teeth, he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done.
Now, if there is a blind man who wishes to buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?

Think about it first before scrolling down for the answer...
> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >>
>>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>> >> >>>>

He opens his mouth and says. "I would like to buy a pair of sunglasses"If you got this wrong please turn off your computer and call it a day.I've got mine shutting down right now

Golden Boy strikes again!

So I ask Trevor, " Am I just really cute or do I look super smart?"
Cordell without a pause "Both!"
BTW...
the reason I asked Trevor this was 'cause this guy stopped me at The Source (Computer and Electronics Store) and asked me for help. I had on my coat, it wasn't like he confused me for an employee of the store.
It must be the glasses.

I have been broadening my horizons...

Lately I have only been reading famous scrapbooking blogs and my sister and sister-in-laws blogs. But tonight I have been searching then linking from blog to blog.
I have really been missing out on a lot of people out there!
Is it just because we communicate better or have the need to communicate with each other that the majority of bloggers seem to be female?
Anyway, although I really ought to leave a better post, I need to get back to making blog friends.
